Sirsak, The Tropical Superfruit
Main ingredient
Sirsak (soursop in English) is a tropical fruit with custardy white flesh and a unique, slightly tangy flavor. Native to Central and South America, this nutrient-rich fruit is now grown across other tropical countries such as Indonesia.
The Anti-Inflamatory Hero
Soursop is rich in flavonoids, tannins, and phenolic acids, which deliver powerful therapeutic benefits through their anti-inflammatory properties.
Among these active compounds, quercetin and kaempferol stand out as the two most prominent flavonoids, each backed by well-established anti-inflammatory mechanisms.
In addition, Sirsak pulp's natural fiber (pectins) independently showed anti-inflammatory activity in some studies, reducing pain-related behavior and immune cell migration to inflamed tissue.
